Data Collection

The Climate Record does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. We are a read-only observatory of public climate data.

What We Don't Collect

  • No cookies
  • No analytics
  • No tracking pixels
  • No user accounts
  • No email addresses
  • No IP logging

Zero data collection. Your privacy is absolute.

Local Storage

The site uses localStorage in your browser to cache weather data and your location preference. This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time via your browser settings.

Third-Party Services

The Climate Record fetches data from public APIs:

  • Open-Meteo — Weather and air quality data
  • NASA GIBS — Satellite imagery
  • BigDataCloud — Reverse geocoding (city names)

These services may have their own privacy policies. We only request the minimum data necessary for the functionality of the site.

Your Rights

Since we collect no personal data, there is nothing to access, modify, or delete. You are in complete control of any data stored locally in your browser.
